  1. The weight bench should stand alone: I do not recommend weight benches that come with a press position. This is because they do not last and are easily abandoned. 
  2.  The weight belt should be easily adjustable.  This makes things much less complicated. It also reduces the risks of a home accident. 
  3. The weight bench leg extensions should be easy to remove. This also reduces the chances of having the home accident. It also enables a smooth training section. 
  4. The weight bench should be of high quality. This would ensure durability. 
  5. The weight bench should be small but strong. Small weight benches do not occupy too much space in your apartment, as such the problem of where to put the weight bench would not arise. 
  6. Think of your pocket. The price of the weight bench does not always determine the quality. In some cases, some affordable weight benches are of high quality. Make sure you read the review thoroughly before you add to your shopping cart. 

One to two hours a day for a start would be ideal. If you can not afford a weight bench, then grab a skipping rope.
