Family Of Six Along With Two Guests Burnt To Death In Ghana

Family of six lost their lives in a fire
Seven unfortunate persons including a man, his four young children and two of his visitors gruesomely lost their lives when fire engulfed their rented flat.
Their home at house number W.297 at Workers, a suburb of Asante Mampong, Ghana, an early house of June 3rd.

The family had looked the house and gone to bed peacefully, unfortunately, when the fire started they could not escape. People around them came to put off the fire from outside but, the family was reportedly trapped by burglar proof which was locked tight for their protection protector, as it is popularly known. This made it impossible for their neighbors' to enter and rescue them from the fire, Adom TV reports.

The reason for the outbreak was not identified at once. According to the landlady, Madam Elizabeth Amoah, at about 12:30 am in the early hours June 3rd, they heard people shouting in the panic that one of the flats in the house was on fire.

She said they woke up and saw that the three-bedroom flat occupied by the deceased, Mr. Isaac Botwe, who was an Estate Officer at Obuasi, his four young children as well as two of his guests were on fire.

Those around hurriedly called the Fire Service from Mampong and Ejura. Unfortunately, before they could bring the fire to a down all the occupants had been burnt beyond recognition. Their bodies were taken away and deposited at Mampong District Hospital mortuary for autopsy.

Pictures of what the man and his children looked like before the fire engulfed them has been released to the public as well.

The wife and mother, who was not at home at the time of the incident, was filled with grief as people tried to comfort her on the loss of her family. She allegedly made an attempt to take her life.
