12 Easiest Languages to Learn
Learning
a language is not easy and the effort and time involved in speaking a foreign
language may be discouraging.
However,
there are some languages that are easier to learn.
The
easiest languages to learn are;
1 Dutch
The
first cousin of English language, Dutch, is full of different English cognates,
for instance, kat
(cat), drinken (to drink), licht (light), week (week), and lots more. Once you
master the basic fundamentals, you will be ready for smaller conversations and the
children’s books.
Tagalog
The
Philippines language, just like Dutch is a place where speaker of Spanish and
English can easily learn with ease. Everyday items are similar or the same with
the Spanish words. Within a short period, it can be grasped.
Haitian Creole
Students
who have learnt French language or are native French speakers can easily learn
Creole. Haitian Creole is one of the French creoles, and is made up of lots of French
vocabulary mixed with native flavors of this new world.
Spanish
Spanish
is the go-to language for most Western learners as it has a small inventory of
sounds as well as an easy phonetic spelling system. Spanish always sounds like
English (with an accent mark), and a lot of learners appreciate this fact.
Japanese
Japanese
has gotten bad PR amongst language learners. However, its pronunciation is
remarkably simple. Out of its 19 consonants, just a few are rare among other
languages, and the five vowels it has are oddly similar to those found in Spanish.
Italian
It has
more vowels than the Spanish language, but Italian language big advantage is
that a lot of its vowels and consonants are the most common sounds which are in
world languages. This means most learners will not find many words they cannot speak
easily.
Afrikaans
We
mentioned the Dutch language above, but the Afrikaans is a grammatically
boiled-down model of its parent language. It’s a lot easier to grasp within a
short period.
Mandarin Chinese
Nearly
every word of the Chinese Mandarin has a single meaning. It also follows a
subject-verb-object order, common to a lot of the world’s languages, so there is
no new tricky syntax for learners.
Malay
The
Malay has no grammatical groups for tense, gender, or number. Basically, students
can learn a form of one word, and can use it anyway they want.
English
This
one is a bonus and is easily the quickest to learn and some may believe it is
difficult. However, English language is intertwined in almost every language
and this makes it a quick one to learn.
French
Apparently,
the French language has influenced over a third of the vocabulary of English.
From experience, the language French is a lot easier to speak and may be more
difficult to write because of all the endings and grammar. In a short while,
French can be picked up without any stress.
1 Esperanto
The language
was fabricated late in the 19th century and made to be easy to learn as well as
use. It rare, but easy to speak.
