The 2018 Nissan Navara: Specs, Design and Safety
The 2018 Nissan Navara has started undergoing testing, and we would share some information for this new model to give our reader a clue of what to expect when it is released.
The vehicle has been severely camouflaged during the trial but spied photos reveal one or two sensitive details about it. 2018 Nissan Navara Specifications Power and Specs Although the vehicle is still being tested, and will most likely receive some modifications before mass production, we can guess a few features that will be incorporated into the final design. The new SUV is believed to be powered by a similar engine to the one in the NP300 Navara truck. This means, under the car’s hood, there will be the same DCI diesel engine of 2.3 liters. The SUV will be probably offered in two distinct power outputs, 188 HP, and 158 HP. Even though the torque performance hasn’t been confirmed yet, its engine will be paired with a six-speed manual transmission. Its seven-speed automatic transmission may be available as well but as an additional option. The power will be delivered via the four-wheel or two-wheel drive configuration. With a similar spec as the truck, it is going to be a powerful SUV with a capability to handle tougher terrains. Exterior and Interior Since it was heavy camouflaged, it’s really hard to know what the new model of the Nissan Navara has received so far. Looking at the layout alone, this SUV appears to have a trim truck body from the front end to the mid-section of the car. In the meantime, the rear end to the midsection of the body is identical to the trim in Pathfinder. It's identical rear doors, as well as the handle and its squared off style tailgate, shares a similarity with the car as well. This means the released model will have serious modification for its rear cabin styling. Its interior was not very clear from the spot where pictures were taken. However, considering that this SUV is supposed to be somewhere in the in-between class, and this is not too expensive and yet not cheap, cabin styling should be in medium class as well. New systems and tech will be added, but car enthusiasts should not expect premium material for its trimming. It appears implausible that any future Navara-based SUV will have this boxy squared-off build, however, with a lot of players in the industry – including the Everest Fortuner, Pajero Sport, MU-X and the newly-rechristened Trailblazer – all introducing an elongated and more ‘sporting’ rear shape. 2018 Nissan Navara price and release date More details on this new SUV would be received in the coming months. However, the vehicle will not be around until 2017 at least, or in the year 2018. Price is still unknown as well as the model of production as they aren’t fixed yet. It seems like the car’s new design is taking a cue from both the last model and the Pathfinder rear end for its body. It is expected to be something fresh on its line, and will be interesting. Even if few market destinations do not receive this SUV, the 2018 Nissan Navara will make a hit on every other market destinations.
